Your plan limits, in plain numbers
We believe in being upfront. Here is exactly what the Free plan includes, with nothing hidden in the small print.
Monitor type on Free is HTTP checks only. Need more monitors, faster checks or more status pages? The Starter plan lifts all three of those limits.
Who the Free plan is for
The Free plan is built for personal and hobby use, though commercial use is allowed. If you are running a business on your monitoring, you will likely want Starter or above, but for these cases Free is perfect.
Your personal site or portfolio
Keep an eye on the site that represents you online and know within minutes if it goes dark.
A weekend side project
Ship your idea and let PulseStack tell you if the server falls over while you are away from the keyboard.
A hobby app or homelab
Point a monitor at your self-hosted service and get an email the instant it stops answering.
A learning project
Understanding uptime monitoring is part of learning to build for the web. Start here at no cost.
A small blog or newsletter
Confirm readers can reach your content and catch outages before they cost you an audience.
A client demo you need to stay up
Watch a staging or demo URL so nothing embarrassing happens mid-presentation.
The 9 monitor types
PulseStack offers nine kinds of monitor. The Free plan unlocks HTTP website checks. The other eight arrive with the Starter plan, along with SSL, DNS and domain insights in the dashboard.
HTTP / website
Watch a URL for downtime and bad status codes.
Keyword
Confirm expected text is present on the page.
TCP Ping
Check a host accepts a TCP connection on a port.
Port
Verify a specific service port is open.
API
Check API endpoints, with custom headers.
Heartbeat
Watch cron jobs and background workers.
SSL certificate
Get alerted before a certificate expires.
DNS record
Check a DNS record holds its expected value.
Domain expiry
Get alerted before a domain registration lapses.
Alerts that reach you
On the Free plan you get email alerts on both failure and recovery. PulseStack supports eight native alert channels in total, with the rest unlocked on paid plans.
Where Free sits in the range
Free is the entry point. Every plan above adds more monitors, faster checks and more capability. Here is the honest ladder so you can see the whole path.
Why start with Free
Genuinely free
No trial clock, no card on file, no surprise bill. Free means free for as long as you want it.
Real monitoring, not a teaser
Twenty-five live HTTP monitors, multi-location checks, and email alerts that actually reach you.
A status page included
Give your users a single link that shows whether your service is healthy right now.
Room to grow
When you outgrow 25 monitors or want faster checks, Starter is one click away at GBP 9 a month.
Honest by design
The limits are clear and printed on this page. What you see is exactly what you get.
Built for builders
Set up in minutes with no meeting, no sales call and no onboarding gauntlet.
When it is time to upgrade
Free is deliberately generous, but there are clear signals it is time to move to Starter at GBP 9 per month.
- →You need more than 25 monitors
- →You want 60-second checks instead of 5-minute
- →You need Keyword, API, Heartbeat, SSL, DNS or other monitor types
- →You want Slack, Microsoft Teams or Telegram alerts
- →You need more than one status page
Free plan questions
Is the Free plan really free forever?+
Yes. There is no trial period and no credit card required at any point. You can run 25 HTTP(S) monitors indefinitely without paying anything.
How many monitors do I get?+
Twenty-five HTTP(S) monitors, each checked every 5 minutes. If you need more monitors, faster 60-second checks, or the other eight monitor types, the Starter plan at GBP 9 per month unlocks all of them.
What is the check interval on Free?+
Free monitors run on a 5-minute interval. Starter drops this to 60-second checks, and Pro, Team and Enterprise go down to 30 seconds.
Which monitor types are included?+
The Free plan covers HTTP website checks only. The remaining eight types, which are Keyword, TCP Ping, Port, API, Heartbeat, SSL certificate, DNS record and domain expiry, are available from the Starter plan onward, along with SSL, DNS and domain insights in the dashboard.
How will I be alerted if something goes down?+
By email. You get an alert on failure and again on recovery, and a monitor is only marked down when at least two of the three check locations fail, so a single blip does not wake you. Additional channels like Slack, SMS, Teams, Discord, PagerDuty, Telegram and Webhooks are available on paid plans.
Do I get a status page?+
Yes. Free includes one public status page you can share so anyone can check whether your service is up at a glance.
How long is my data kept?+
Free keeps a 30-day check history, the same as every paid plan.
What happens when I need to upgrade?+
Upgrading to Starter takes effect immediately and keeps all your existing monitors and history. You simply gain more monitors, faster checks, every monitor type and more alert channels.
