Down for everyone, or just you?
Our probe runs from a UK data centre, so it answers one question well: is PayPal reachable from outside your network? If our check succeeds but PayPal is not working for you, work through these in order:
- Try another network: switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or use a different connection.
- Try another device or browser, and a private window to rule out extensions and cached sessions.
- Restart your router if other sites are slow too.
- Check whether colleagues or friends in another location are affected: a regional outage can be real even when our probe succeeds.
Common signs of a PayPal outage
- Checkout payments fail or decline across different cards
- The mobile app will not log in while the website still works, or vice versa
- Transfers show as pending far longer than normal
- Merchant dashboards or payout reporting will not load
Seeing several of these at once, across different networks and devices, points to a genuine service problem rather than a local one.
